JTEKT Toyoda Americas Corporation is excited to announce that it has been named a finalist for the 2017 Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence (PACE) Award.
The PACE award, now in its 23rd year, honors suppliers' innovations in products, information technology, manufacturing processes and capital equipment, all aimed to revolutionize the automotive industry. This year marks a record high for award submissions, with 30 automotive suppliers from seven different countries being named finalists.
Toyoda’s entry focuses on combining two proven platforms: high-speed axis synchronization and optimized multi-purpose gear part machining – both of which are found in one machining center - thereby maximizing productivity. Toyoda’s GS300 skives, turns, mills, bores and drills in one setup – eliminating concentricity and runout issues while maximizing shop floor space and allowing customers to cut down on the number of machines needed to cut one part. This also significantly reduces unexpected downtime potential maintenance costs. At the same time, the revolutionary high-speed axis synchronization syncs up cutting tools to simultaneously cut teeth internally and externally.
Winners will be announced April 3 at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit, kicking off SAE World Congress week.
