There isn’t much that Scenic Industries of Chattanooga, Tennessee can’t handle when it comes to machining. They meet customer’s manufacturing challenges with solutions including patterns, tooling and machined products. However, when met with demand for several high-volume machining projects, they knew they needed a higher-capacity machine. To be competitive on the projects and machine efficiently, Scenic Industries decided that a machining center with a pallet changer was going to be a worthwhile investment. To secure the high-volume projects and ensure they would be profitable, Scenic Industries needed to increase capacity and efficiency right away. They also needed a seamless transaction and quick installation in order to meet the deadlines. “Due to the competitive nature of high volume machining, there was a risk that we would lose the jobs to a competitor with a lower bid,” said Garrett Iverson, a mechanical engineer at Scenic. “The Toyoda machine gave us the much-needed edge to greatly reduce our costs and increase our production numbers.”
