JTEKT Toyoda Americas and their premier distributor, Commai Maquinas-Herramienta for the Mexico region will be showcasing Toyoda’s GL4i cylindrical grinding machine, Stealth VQ1060 linear vertical machine and newly launched, Taiwan Takisawa Stealth EX-108 – a Toyoda exclusive horizontal turning center at stand 730 during TECMA 2017 beginning March 7th.
JTEKT Toyoda Americas eagerly announced the expansion of their machining lineup with the addition Taiwan Takisawa turning centers throughout Mexico in late 2016. As an exclusive horizontal turning center built with a 4,000 RPM spindle and 2.5” bar capacity for high speed production, customers can only find a machine like this from Toyoda. The Stealth Ex-108 is fit with extra wide, heavy-duty turrets and true one-piece slant bed castings, a Hi-Lo gear box spindle for more torque and strength to handle any application.
Specifications achieved on the Stealth Ex-108 include a max swing of 18.89” (480 mm), max turning diameter of 12.” (320 mm), and a spindle drive motor of 20/15 HP (15 kW/11kW) with an 8” chuck.
Toyoda’s newest addition to the Stealth line-up, the VQ1060 linear guideway machining center was designed with efficient production in mind. Heavy-duty, preloaded linear guideways and a 10,000 RPM spindle, provide excellent vibration dampening capabilities to maximize high-performance end milling productivity.
The Stealth VQ1060’s cast-iron head stock and spindle are paired with a CAT 40 taper and 10/15 HP motor with spindle output torque reaches 35.4/52.3 ft-lb and rigid feed rates work 1,417 ipm on the X and Y axes, and 1,181 ipm for the Z axis. Large AC servo motors in all three axes joined to the ballscrew with highly rigid axial couplings, result in support of high thrust loads, instantaneous response without backlash, and the elimination of a need for a mechanical counter balance on the Z-axis.
Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic technology drive Toyoda’s GL4i cylindrical grinding machine to achieve long-term accuracy with its patented Toyoda Stat Bearing and floating plate to ensure high positioning with a reduction in thermal displacement. Designed for simple configuration of dedicated processes in a high-production environment, the GL4-I is offered in plain and angle head configurations.
The GL4-I’s highly rigid structure and hybrid bearing gives the spindle high rotational accuracy while its simultaneous 2-axis feed utilizes a floating plate to absorb run out of the feed screw. A Ø 12.6” (320 mm) swing and distance between center options of 19.6” (500 mm) to 78.7” (2000 mm) allow customers to grind large workpieces at a wheel surface speed of 6,500 sfpm (30 m/s).
